Brafitting: The Perfect Fit
Discover the secrets of the ideal brafitting! Learn how to correctly measure your underbust and bust circumference so your bra provides maximum comfort, stable support, and an ideal silhouette.
Brafitting: the two key measurements for the ideal fit.
The underbust and bust measurements are all you need to enjoy maximum comfort.
1. Underbust Measurement: The Foundation of Support
We start with this step because a well-chosen band is the foundation. This "parameter" is largely responsible for supporting the weight of your breasts. You must measure the band tightly so that the bra chosen in this size does not shift, ensuring stable support.
Size charts usually provide a single number that defines a range in cm, e.g., 75 – this means the bra band should be chosen by ladies with an underbust measurement of 73 to 77 cm.
In case of a large difference between your bust and underbust measurements, we suggest sizing down the band one step. The reason is that heavier breasts will require firmer support. However, remember—your comfort is most important.
2. Bust Measurement: Choosing the Cup
This "parameter" determines which bra cup you should choose. It is precisely defined by the difference between your bust and underbust measurements. With these two measurements, you can easily select your size using our chart.
How to measure: We suggest measuring yourself wearing a soft, unpadded bra. After putting it on, lean slightly forward and measure at the widest point of the bust, ensuring the tape is level across your breasts and back (the tape should be horizontal when you straighten up). The measurement taken while leaning forward is your bust circumference.
Where do the cup letters come from?
The difference in centimeters between the bust and underbust determines the cup size, as follows:
- Difference 12-14cm: cup A
- Difference 16-18cm: cup C
- Difference 20-22cm: cup E
- Difference 24-26cm: cup G
Example: With an underbust of 75 cm and a bust of 90 cm, you find the 89-91 cm range for a 75 band – your cup is C. Your final size is 75C.
3. Adjusting the Straps
The straps should be slightly taut but must not dig in. The correct length is when two connected fingers (middle and index) fit between the strap and your shoulder. This prevents the entire weight of the bust from resting solely on the band.
